St. Monica has been Michael’s family’s home since 2018 when his son Nathan started PK-4, with his daughter Tori subsequently joining in 2021. He and his wife Cate are both active volunteers with the parish and school.  Michael has been an active supporter and member of the Dads’ Club serving as Vice President, Gala Chair, Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer. Michael is a proud graduate of both Purdue University where he earned a Mechanical Engineering degree and The University of Michigan where he received his MBA in Finance.

Sam Ackels has two children at St. Monica, in the 5th and 3rd Grade, is a lifelong parishioner of St. Monica Catholic Church. Sam, and his wife Katie, volunteer and serve the St. Monica Community in many activities including, Dads Club, PTO, Annual Fund Captains, Coaching, and Legacy Endowment Events.

Fun Fact about Sam: Sam won the 1993 St. Monica School Field Day Sportsmanship Award and still has the trophy prominently displayed in his office!

James joined the St. Monica family in 2021 and is the father of two, Perrin (2nd grade) and James IV (Kindergarten).

He and his wife, Marissa (an Ursuline graduate), are active parishioners, having volunteered for and sponsored numerous St. Monica events, including Autumnfest, Gala, and the Dad's Club Golf Tournament. James has also served as a sponsor for a St. Moncia RCIA participant.

James holds a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University, an M.B.A. from Texas Tech Rawls College of Business, and a J.D. from Texas Tech School of Law. After serving 13 years as an Assistant District Attorney in Dallas County, he founded the premier criminal defense firm, The Aulbaugh Law Firm.

Matt and his family joined St. Monica in 2021 and now has a daughter (Cecilia) in third grade and another (Frankie) in kindergarten. 
A Dallas native, Matt grew up swimming for the Sparkman Gators and is a proud graduate of Jesuit and the University of Oklahoma.  He is now a Pilot at Southwest Airlines, based in Dallas.
For the last two years, he’s helped organize the Dads’ Club Golf Tournament. When not working and chasing his kids around, he enjoys golf and hunting.

Fred and his amazing wife, Johanna, became part of the St. Monica family in 2019 when their daughter, Maya, was born (now proudly in 1st grade!). Next year, their son, A.P., will be hopefully joining the school in Kindergarten—get ready, St. Monica!

Fred is best known for his epic victory at the Bro Olympics in 2024–2025, where he claimed bragging rights for the Dads Club.

When he’s not at work, you’ll find him on the sidelines cheering for his kids, or rolling up his sleeves at St. Monica events—whether it’s sausage making, spaghetti dinners, or the back-to-school picnic.

Zach is husband to Michelle and proud father of three boys at St. Monica—currently in PK4, 1st, and 5th grade. He has been an active member of the Dads’ Club for many years and previously chaired the Silent Auction for three consecutive years. Zach enjoys giving back to the St. Monica community and building connections with fellow dads while supporting the school and parish.

Jeremy and his wife Dr. Tracey Roden have been parishioners at St. Monica since 2014-15 where their two boys Jack and Jude first attended K and Pre-K. Jack is now in 10 and 9th at Bishop Lynch. Their daughter Delaney Carolina is a Sophomore at Arkansas where she is studying criminology.

Jeremy and Tracey have volunteered on various committees throughout the last 10 years at SMS, including Autumnfest, Christmas Market, NOWF and multiple Galas. Jeremy served as Secretary for Dads’ Club in 2016-2017, Gala Chair in 2021/22, Vice President in 2022/23, and President in 2023/24 . Jeremy holds a bachelor’s degree from UNT, a M.Ed from Concordia University Texas and an MBA from LSU where he teaches in the MBA program. He is also a drummer and singer in the St. Monica originated Dad band OKOTB. In his spare time, he loves watching LSU sporting events with his family and friends.

Fun Facts: Jeremy designs and builds custom electric guitars in his home workshop and was an animator of special fx for Paramount Pictures on the Academy Award Nominated film, Jimmy Neutron in 2002.

Aaron served as Dads’ Club President for 2022/23 and has been a member of the St. Monica community for 8 years. With his wife, he has been an active member of the community; serving as the soccer coach and volunteering to support the many activities and fundraisers that assist our school. Aaron is a dedicated dad and husband to his two beautiful daughters and wife. He considers family the most important thing to him, demonstrated through his commitment to the school and community that is helping grow his girls in faith and spirit.

Justin is in his 7th year supporting the Dads’ Club. He has served as the Prohibition Gala Chair in February 2020, Vice President in 2020-2021, and President in 2021-2022. He has two wonderful girls attending St. Monica (1st and 4th Grade). Justin currently serves on the DC financial committee and continues to be a valuable asset to the St. Monica Dads’ Club a community.

St. Monica has been his home since 2009 and is a father of 4 (3 Bearcats so far in 7th, 4th, and 2nd grades), a decorated Army veteran, Eagle Scout, and a graduate of Indiana University. He is currently a Cloud Architect.

Brian serves across the St. Monica community. He’s a elected officer in the St Monica Knights of Columbus as well as serving as their technical director. He is a part of the Sunday Mass Usher Team and was elected to the School Advisory Council (SAC) where he has served for 4 years. He has also volunteered to coach a variety of SMS YMCA teams.

Brian has been a very active supporter and member of the Dads’ Club serving as Vice President, Gala Chair, Gala Sponsorship Chair, Gala Raffle Chair, Chief Pastafarian, and was elected twice to DC Board Secretary, and most notably helped organize the 2019 Chainsaw Brigade in response to the devistating tornado that impacted the surrounding community.
